We Have Tons of Fun!

The Gold Camp Victorian Society’s members are a fun loving group who enjoy sharing the history of the gold camp with visitors to our area. Our members attend many local events and citywide celebrations in Cripple Creek and Victor while sporting their Victorian era attire. We march in the parades and add Victorian era color to local festivals. The Society also sponsors several authentic Victorian period events annually such as the Victorian Ball and Victorian Tea.

Saturdays on Main Street

Take a look around as you’re window shopping along the sidewalks on Bennet Avenue. Look! Over there! Are the gentleman and lady ghosts from yesteryear? No! They’re for real! Every Saturday afternoon in summer our members stroll the streets of Cripple Creek in Victorian period attire adding an ambience of gentler days to the background of the historic landscape. Casino visitors and tourists are always delighted with our long summer gowns and parasols, our top hats, vests and canes.  Many folks walk along and ask questions about the “old days” as we stroll along together. Our hope is that visitors to the gold camp leave with the feeling that the people of Cripple Creek and Victor appreciate the folks who come to see our historic towns. AND we would just love to snap a picture with you!

The Spirits of the Past Come to Life!

Our Mt. Pisgah Speaks event is sponsored annually in late September by Gold Camp Victorian Society. It is the most fun and informative single event of the year for our visitors and our members. Set in historic Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in the spirit of Halloween, our members bring back to life many of the most notorious and colorful people that ever walked the streets of Cripple Creek and Victor. As you tour the graveyard with your host, you will meet these apparitions at their own gravesites. They can be funny, sometimes a little spooky, but they are all very interesting people who have come back from the netherworld, for one afternoon, to share their stories of the past with curious visitors who dare to ask!
